A word about our website name and motto (for the humor-impaired): Black humor is a well known survival tactic. We find that a light, tongue-in-cheek approach to life is very good medicine. One of the authors of this website resides in Europe, the other in the US, thus "International". "Atomic Women" and "League" suggest a large group of bug-eyed, glow-in-the-dark people! (We don't actually glow in the dark, unfortunately.) For those of you who tend to go at life in a strict, literal approach, this website may just confuse you. I am truly sorry for that. Rest assured that the attempts to present factual information are sound. We are representative of some very large online support groups. So much "anecdotal" information has been gathered by us over the years that only an unscientific mind could discount what we've learned by thousands of personal accounts. "What the scientists haven't
yet realized, is that "the plural of anecdote is Our motto, "We may as well go forward, because we can't go back!" refers to the fact that once Radioactive Iodine (I-131) has done its work on the thyroid gland, the damage is not repairable and we will never again be able to reclaim normal thyroid function.
